Meet Denise

Denise is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), and is certified in Neuropsychotherapy (NPT-C). She specializes in Trauma Therapy, Couples Counseling, Grief, Depression, Anxiety, and Emotional Dysregulation. She received her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Colorado Christian University, completing her counseling practicum in 2019. Denise is passionate about helping clients address trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship concerns, grief, self-worth, parenting, and spirituality. She is trained in EMDR which is an evidence-based treatment for trauma, depression, and anxiety. She has also completed 2 levels of training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and uses this extensively researched method in combination with attachment theory to help couples deepen their friendship, effectively communicate, and manage conflict. In addition, she uses a Person-Centered Approach as well as REBT, CBT, somatic awareness, and the neurobiology of the brain to guide treatment and to help clients reach their goals. Above everything though, she wants to create a compassionate space where clients can connect and heal.

Denise has been married to her husband for over 15 years and they have 3 active sons. She is a proud native Texan who started her career as a High School English Teacher for over a decade before moving to Montana with her family to be a stay-at-home mom and raise her boys. After 7 amazing years, the family returned to Texas to be closer to her family and pursue a full time counseling career. She enjoys traveling, attending the boy’s activities and games, listening to podcasts, and reading. But but she mostly loves quiet reflection, genuine conversation, and making sincere connections with others.
